At Brow Down we specialize in eyebrow Microblading, a semi-permanent makeup technique, which like traditional permanent makeup is a tattoo but there are many differences!
The most common type of traditional eyebrow tattoos involves the use of a tattoo gun and a block style brow, which leaves the client with a dark outlined eyebrow with no depth. Microblading leaves the client with crisp, thin lines that look identical to real hair. A selection of pigment is carefully chosen to give depth and shape so that the natural brows and microbladed strokes blend perfectly.
Microblading lasts anywhere from 8 months to 2 years depending on the amount of sun exposer and exfoliating done by each individual client. It creates fine hair strokes that don’t blur over time or fade into unusual colors like you would experience with a traditional permanent makeup machine.
Full eyebrows are beautiful, everyone wants them to perfectly distinguish they're face. The trick is to get the perfect shape first and then you can use makeup to add depth, fill in gaps and extend the length to really make them stand out. It’s smoke and mirrors with eyebrows, you really don’t have to have the perfect arch…you just need to know the right tricks of the trade to create the illusion of bold and beautiful.
First we start at the inside corner - hold a makeup brush parallel to the side of the nose, where the brush meets the brow is where the brow should begin.
Then apply the wax to the top outside half of the brow that slopes up and down – just clean up strays.
Now, the inside half of brow that slopes up – hold a makeup brush parallel to the outside edge of the colored part of the eye (the iris), where the brush meets the brow is where the highest part of the arch should be. We then apply wax accordingly.
Wax the inside half of brow that slopes down,
then finally fill in any areas with a eyebrow pencil for the meantime if there are any areas that are needing to grow out or fill in naturally.
Also known as ‘Micro-pigmentation, Permanent makeup or Medical tattooing’, this form of semi-permanent makeup is a procedure of implanting coloured pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. This is a great way to simply escape the daily application required with traditional makeup routines by mimicking the appearance of real makeup.
